Before buying any phone in Pakistan — whether from Daraz, a shop, or as a gift from abroad — you must verify its PTA approval status. An unapproved phone stops working on Pakistani networks after 60 days. Here are all the ways to check in under 2 minutes.

Method 1 — DIRBS website (most reliable)
- Go to dirbs.pta.gov.pk
- Click “Device Verification”
- Find the IMEI on the phone box or dial *#06#
- Enter the 15-digit IMEI number
- Click Verify — result shows immediately
Green result: Phone is PTA approved — safe to use. Red result: Phone is not registered — will be blocked after 60 days on a Pakistani SIM.
Method 2 — USSD code
On any Pakistani SIM: dial *8484# → enter your IMEI → receive SMS reply with registration status. Works on all networks (Jazz, Telenor, Zong, Ufone).
Method 3 — PTA smartphone app
Download the “PTA DIRBS” app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Scan the phone barcode or enter IMEI manually. Instant result.
What each IMEI status means
| Status | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Compliant | PTA approved — safe | Buy with confidence |
| Non-Compliant | Not registered — will be blocked | Pay registration fee or avoid buying |
| Blocked | Already blocked by PTA | Do not buy — cannot be activated |
